Jim Parke

Jim ParkeJim Parke has been a director of Parke Nelson Pty Ltd since 2006. Mr Parke is admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Courts of Queensland, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory and of the High Court of Australia and the High Court of New Zealand. He holds the degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws from the Queensland University of Technology and a Master of Jurisprudence from Bond University. He also holds a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety, a Diploma of Security and Risk Management, a Diploma of Government (Investigation) and a Diploma of Education and Training.

Jim Parke has practised law since being called to the Bar in Queensland in 1991 and has been Managing Director of Parke Lawyers since 1994. He has extensive experience and expertise in business law, litigation, corporate governance and employment law. He is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

Jim Parke represents the Bellevue Ward in the City of Boroondara, a role to which he was elected in October 2012. Mr Parke brings to the role significant experience, having served two terms on the Toowoomba City Council, where he resided when Parke Lawyers was established in 1994.

Strongly community-minded, Jim Parke is the only Australian to ever hold the office of President of Crime Stoppers International. He has also previously served as Chairman of Crime Stoppers Australia, Chairman of Crime Stoppers Queensland, President of the Victims of Crime Association of Queensland and Deputy Chairman of Volunteering Australia. Mr Parke is the immediate past President of the Victorian Division of the Institute of Mercantile Agents.
